It’s safe to say that Coles’ rotisserie chicken is iconic – the flavour is juicy, the little handheld bags fly off the shelves and they’re easy to grab and go.

So, when Coles shared the news that they’re bringing out a new flavour of their famous roast chicken, shoppers were understandably delighted. The grocery store revealed that they have released a Honey BBQ version of their famous chook.

The new option will see the Coles O.G. rotisserie chicken marinated in honey, garlic and liquid smoke for a delectable flavour hit. And, it’s not just the marinade that’s getting a flavour injection – the Honey BBQ roast chicken is also filled with paprika, garlic, honey, herb and breadcrumb stuffing.

“We are always looking for ways to innovate across our existing product range and provide our customers with interesting new meal ideas,” Mr Hickox said in a statement about the new chook flavour.

“We think customers will love our brand-new Coles Honey BBQ Hot Roast RSPCA Approved Chicken, the perfect weekday meal base to grab-and-go and add to their favourite recipes, such as tacos with charred corn salsa and chipotle mayo, or sliders with coleslaw and ranch dressing.”

He added, “We are so excited to offer them the new smoky honey flavour combination to make dinnertime even sweeter.”

The Honey BBQ roast chicken has been released after the success of their recently released  Mexican-flavoured BBQ chook.

The Mexican BBQ chicken used “responsibly sourced chicken” and had “a delicious Mexican-flavoured marinade, stuffing core and sprinkle.”

The addition of the Honey BBQ roast chicken was also inspired by the popularity of the grocery stores Honey Soy Chicken Kebabs, which are a firm favourite among consumers.

The new Honey BBQ roast chickens are currently available for $12 in all Australian Coles’ delis, except in the Northern Territory.
