Former UFC poster boy Conor McGregor is once again in hot water after CCTV emerged appearing to show the ‘retired’ MMA fighter belting an old man at a pub. Obtained by TMZ, the footage shows McGregor clocking the other man from behind with a scary looking blow to the head.
The incident allegedly took place in April last year, with the footage only surfacing overnight. It’s believed McGregor was drinking at the venue, and began shouting shots of his signature Irish Whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve. Per reports, when the elderly man at the bar declined to sample some of McGregor’s wears, McGregor reacted by belting him.
Within microseconds, McGregor is dragged away from the bar by others.
While Irish police have declined to comment on the specifics of this incident, they have confirmed they’ve investigating an altercation believed to have happened around the same time the footage was taken. A spokesperson told CBS news, “Investigations are ongoing in relation to this incident and no arrests have been made to date.”
Despite walking away from UFC, McGregor is yet to find a way out of the headlines. Since copping a $50,000 fine for a post-match brawl following his UFC bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov; McGregor’s last fight with UFC before announcing his retirement, the Irishman was busted for smashing a fan’s phone in Miami beach and arrested.
McGregor may have announced his retirement in March this year (contradicting himself moments later with photos of him training in Miami) but it’s safe to say we haven’t heard the last of Notorious just yet.
