Daniel Craig recently bid an emotional farewell to James Bond as his last 007 stint, No Time To Die hits cinemas soon.

As part of the upcoming film, Apple+ will be releasing a special documentary titled: Being James Bond which provides a look at the actor’s experience of playing the character for the past five years.

“A lot of people here have worked on five pictures with me,” Craig said.

“I know there’s a lot of things said about what I think about these films and all of… whatever, but I’ve loved every single second of these movies and especially this one, because I’ve got up every morning, and I’ve had the chance to work with you guys. And that has been one of the greatest honours of my life.”

And now in a new interview speaking with Radio Times, Craig was asked if a woman should play the role of James Bond in the future.

As reported by Consequence, Craig said, “The answer to that is very simple.”

“There should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?”

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli made a similar remark prior to this, reasserting that she also doesn’t feel that a woman should play James Bond. “He can be of any color, but he is male,” Broccoli said.

“I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters. ‘I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that.”
