Ohh! I promise I’m not breaking your balls, but it looks like David Chase is working on a film prequel to The Sopranos.

Deadline reports that New Line have purchased a script written by Chase and longtime Sopranos writer Lawrence Konner which will be set in Newark in the summer of 1967, during the riots which killed 26 and injured hundreds.

The story will revolve around Tony Soprano’s parents — Johnny Boy and the relentless horrible Olivia — and his Uncle Junior.

“David is a masterful storyteller and we, along with our colleagues at HBO, are thrilled that he has decided to revisit, and enlarge, the Soprano universe in a feature film,” said New Line chairman Toby Emmerich.
