David Koechner, best known for his starring roles in Anchorman and The Office, was allegedly arrested on the afternoon of NYE for driving under the influence.

According to TMZ, the actor was driving in Simi Valley, California, when he was pulled over by cops at around 3pm that afternoon. The publication reports that he took a a field sobriety test, which he didn’t legally pass.

The publication says that Koechner spent the night behind bars, before being released on New Years Day. According to records, his court date has been set for March 30th, 2022.

Prior to the incident, Koechner reportedly had a clean record, with TMZ reporting that there is no evidence that he has been charged with any crimes before this.

Koechner played Champ Kind in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), and in the sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues (2013). He has appeared on over 20 episodes of Saturday Night Live between 1995 and 2013, and played Todd Packer in The Office from 2005-2013.

Though The Office ended almost nine long years ago, news about a free The Office mobile phone game popped up last year, and has fans of the show waiting for it’s release with baited breath. Though the game was slated for release at the end of 2021, the Twitter account of creators East Side Games, still says that it’s “coming soon”.

According to reports, users will play through classic moments from the show, earning in-game rewards as you try to keep the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin afloat. Famous characters such as Michael, Jim, Pam, and Dwight will be included.

Users can build desks for their favourite characters and also participate in in-game events that will introduce new versions of characters and memorable events.
