The cast of cult movie Dazed and Confused will reunite on Sunday, October 11th, for a live script reading in support of voting initiatives.
According to Deadline, most of the original cast members will return for the livestream, including Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, Jason London, Joey Lauren Adams, and Adam Goldberg. Breakout star Matthew McConaughey will also be taking part. Comedian Patton Oswalt will moderate a live Q&A immediately after the reading.
The event is being put on to benefit Dallas-based March for Science’s #VoteForScience campaign in support of Texas voting initiatives. The reading will also benefit the Voto Latino Foundation, a voter outreach and education nonprofit for that community.

Dazed and Confused was both a stoner classic and one of the defining movies of the 90s. It takes place on the last day of high school in Austin, Texas, in 1976, as the characters come to terms with life and their future.
The movie wasn’t much of a success at the box office, grossing less than $8 million in the US. Critical acclaim nonetheless followed, including being ranked third on Entertainment Weekly‘s list of the 50 Best High School Movies.
The coming-of-age comedy was directed by Richard Linklater (Boyhood). Its cast was unknown at the time but went on to great things in Hollywood. We think the genius of this live script reading is getting to see the actual Batman (Affleck) and Alice from Resident Evil (Milla Jovovich) talking about weed together.

The opportunity to witness McConaughey reprise his iconic role as the slacker stoner Wooderson, who’s in his 20’s but still hangs with high school students, is also too good to be pass up.
It’s just the latest example of a classic movie cast reuniting for a good cause. This Is Spinal Tap is returning on Wednesday, October 14th, for a virtual fundraiser to help raise funds for Democrats in Pennsylvania.
