The 23rd instalment of the festival opens with the highest grossing Greek film since 2009.
The second film by acclaimed director Christopher Papakaliatis, Worlds Apart,features Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons, along with Papakaliatis himself.
It pivots on three distinct generational love stories between a Greek and a foreigner, that eventually draw into a single narrative. This is a modern Greek love story that reaffirms the lasting beauty and history of Greece amid the European debt crisis.
The extended lineup of films for the festival, including special guests, is soon to be announced.
