The entertainment world is in mourning today, following news of the passing of Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce at the age of 20.

Making his acting debut in 2008 in the video for Panic! At The Disco’s ‘That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)’, Cameron Boyce undoubtedly hit the big time in 2010 when, as a 11-year-old, he appeared as the son of Adam Sander in Grown Ups.

In 2011, Boyce shot to fame after scoring the co-starring role of Luke Ross in the Disney Channel’s Jessie. Running until 2015, Boyce continued to make a number of high-profile appearances, including a role in Descendants, its sequel, and the 2017 animated Spider-Man series.

However, as the ABC reports, Boyce’s career has been cut tragically short, with his family issuing a statement to reveal his passing today.

“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” a spokesperson for the family explained. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.

“The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.

“We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”
