To celebrate 30 seasons of The Simpsons, Disney+ has recruited renowned Aussie dessert chef Adriano Zumbo to create a recipe for Homer’s Out Of This World Moon Waffles.

All seasons of the show are currently available to stream on the platform, and Disney+ has announced that it will be re-creating some of the most iconic recipes from the show.

Things kick off this week with Zumbo and Homer’s Moon Waffles, which appeared in the Season 4 episode ‘Homer The Heretic’. If you’ll recall, Homer refuses to go to church and creates his ‘Patented Space-Age Out Of This World Moon Waffles’.

In a 10-minute video posted to Disney+ socials, Zumbo goes through the process of creating all the parts of the recipe in great detail. Starting with creating the salted-smoked caramel which includes liquid smoke, as well as some beer.

Unfortunately Zumbo decides not to wrap the waffles in a cube of butter like Homer does (well maybe it’s for the best), so instead he uses some cream cheese and lemon juice to his recipe to create a whipped cream cheese butter (not a bad replacement!).

When it comes to the waffles themselves, things remain at a pretty high level of indulgence. Zumbo includes hard caramel candy in the actual waffle batter…. mmmmmm waffle batter…

If that wasn’t enough, things go to the next bloody level when Zumbo creates a globe-looking egg thing using coloured coco butter. He fills it with tempered chocolate!

Look, to be honest we probably won’t bother with the whole presentation, but the rest of it looks very do-able!
