The Final Fantasy franchise is one of the most successful video game series in history.
It’s been 30 years since the first game of the series was released, and to celebrate, ‘Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy’ is coming to Australia for the very first time.
The concert event will feature legendary Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu, a full symphony orchestra conducted by Grammy award-winner Arnie Roth, and a slew of multimedia elements such as screen images created especially for the event.
Uematsu is a composer of note, who wrote – upon other scores – the Final Fantasy VII theme song ‘Eyes On Me’, which sold over 400,000 copies, scoring “Song of the Year (Western Music)” at Japan Gold Disc Awards in 1999 – the first time a video game theme had taken out the prize.
The music featured in Distant Worlds has appeared in numerous Final Fantasy games throughout the decades, with new scores and arrangements also created to bolster the experience.
Tickets for the event are on sale from Thursday February 16.
