After a few hints and plenty of anticipation, Dragon Ball FighterZ fans will soon be able to take none other than Frieza’s bro Cooler for a spin, as revealed in a trailer that dropped at this year’s Evo 2018 fighting game contest.
The reveal came following the announcement of classic versions of both Goku and Vegeta, and showed Cooler transforming into his larger, stronger form – looking very badarse in the process.
“Goku vs Vegeta, a duel between two Saiyans with the fate of the Earth hanging on the line,” the Bandai Namco YouTube channel began. “On August 8th will you stand with Goku or join Vegeta in his invasion?
“Stick around because another mighty warrior is also joining the fight! #DRAGONBALLFighterZ is available now on PS4, X1, and Steam!”
The clip below shows off a few attacks we can expect to see, and for now most people seem pretty stoked with the choice of Cooler as the next character to join the packed roster, with only a few bemoaning the lack of Yajirobe instead.
The timing of the clip came hot on the heels of the 2018 Evo Grand Finals for Dragon Ball FighterZ, which saw Dominique “SonicFox” McLean knock off Goichi “GO1” Kishida to secure his place as the game’s inaugural Evo champ.
It’s too early to tell if Cooler will be slipping into anyone’s team for next year, and there’s not even a release date for him just yet, but at least we know that the new versions of Goku and Vegeta are on their way on Wednesday. For now, check ’em all out below.
