At the premiere of Black Adam, The Rock has finally confirmed what every DC fan has been hoping for.

To regular movie goers, the character of Black Adam is not one that most have heard of. But for years Johnson has been working on this passion project and it has finally come to fruition.

The film stars Johnson in the titular role. Alongside him is Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna and and several other DC staples.

In the comics, Black Adam is at best an anti-hero. Assuming they stick to this, fans have been wondering how the planet stands a chance up against such an unstoppable force. The answer they’ve been hoping for is Henry Cavill as Superman.

It has been rumoured for months and in recent weeks it has been all but confirmed. Regardless…

Spoilers ahead!

“The cat is out of the bag when it comes to Henry Cavill coming into the mix,” teases the Entertainment Tonight reporter to Dwayne Johnson at the Black Adam premiere.

“The whole goal and initiative of Black Adam was to build out the DC universe,” says Johnson. “We always put the fans first. Audience comes first. So for years, audiences have been so passionate and vocal about…”

Johnson trails off, stepping into straight up spoiler territory. But we know what he means.

“We’ve established Black Adam as the most powerful and unstoppable force on our planet. But the fans have been so passionate about, as we have been, where is the most unstoppable force in the universe?”

“We’ve all been fighting for this moment, so I will say this: welcome home”

Now, I’m willing to admit that he doesn’t strictly confirm that Henry Cavill appears as Superman in Black Adam. But, considering the plethora of rumours circulating and Johnson’s repeated loyalty to Cavill’s portrayal, I think we can expect the Man of Steel to be landing very soon.
