It seems like everything has been cancelled lately, but don’t worry: the WA premier has announced that the Easter Bunny will still be able to deliver the goods.

Not going to lie, my mental state has been terrible since cancellations due to COVID-19 began. First, Download Festival was cancelled, then interstate travel was restricted.

With Easter right around the corner, I was getting pretty worried that the Easter Bunny wouldn’t be able to deliver a basket of goodies to my front door, but WA Premier Mark McGowan has put my worries to rest.

Taking to Twitter, McGowan revealed that he had an “important announcement for WA kids (and chocolate lovers),” alike.

The WA Premier had received a letter from a nine-year-old girl, Taylah, from Thornlie, WA. She asked him a very important question that has surely been on our minds lately, “will the Easter Bunny be able to come to WA this year?”

As WA, like many states and territories across Australia, have put restrictions in place on their borders in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19, young Taylah was concerned that the restrictions would apply to the main man of Easter himself, too, and that she would be missing out on some well-deserved treats.

Luckily, McGowan revealed via a video on twitter that he has issued a “special eggs-emption”.

“This means the Easter Bunny can still come to WA and visit all our families and friends next weekend, because we all know just how that is.”
