Ever dreamed of pulling a Harry Potter and Ron Weasley move and getting around town – or to Hogwarts – in a flying car?
Well, your dreams may be a reality in three short years, according to the CEO of Tesla Elon Musk (your dreams of owning a flying car, not attending Hogwarts, sadly).
The full exchange went down, in true Elon Musk style, on Twitter.
What sparked the conversation was a tweet from Twitter user @TeslaAircraft, saying “A thought on Tesla innovation- I suggest people drive successive years of the Model S starting from 2012. This car has improved so much, it’s unbelievable. Tesla has been iterating on it for over 6 years and isn’t stopping now. I can’t wait to see the 2022 Model S.”

Twitter user @Richie_Hill_ then responded with a gif of an animated futuristic looking flying car and the word “2022”.

At this point, all was just dreams and speculation – until the Twitter master himself entered the conversation, casually breaking the news that, “The new Roadster will actually do something like this”.

He then went into more detail in the replies to the Twitter thread of how the car would work. He said, “Will use SpaceX cold gas thruster system with ultra high pressure air in a composite over-wrapped pressure vessel in place of the 2 rear seats… Plus, you can basically accelerate at the limit of human endurance”.
Folks, it appears we are already living in the FUTURE. Here’s to 2022, and an Elon Musk flying car.
