Calling all aspiring musicians, entries for Australia’s biggest songwriting contest are now open.

Up for grabs are two music development funds valued at $15,000 a piece alongside anall-expenses paid trip to the USA to attend the Americana Music Festival, local gigs and ongoing support. The successful masterclass sessions will resume in 2015, with mentors offering a guiding hand thorugh the tribulations of the music industry.

Focusing on original music, the competition has been the launching pad for outstanding Australian songwriters such as Melody Pool, Harry Hookey and Josh Rennie-Hynes.

For the first time entry is now completely online,closingon Sunday August 23.
