Eric Dane recently said his pansexual character, who is also a predator, from Euphoria is a voice for the gay community.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Eric Dane discussed his character Cal Jacobs from Euphoria. During the interview, he talked about Cal’s struggle of coming to terms with his sexuality, and how he came out as pansexual to his family. While Eric’s heart was in the right place, it doesn’t seem like he thought through what he was saying in one particular part of the interview where he talks as if the gay community is the same things as the LGBTQ community as a whole and mistakes his pansexual character as gay.

Dane then went on to say that he thinks he lent the gay community a voice by portraying Jacobs despite Dane himself being a straight man. What is troubling about this is that Cal Jacobs is a sexual predator in the show, something that Dane overlooks but the gay community doesn’t. Needless to say, Twitter was quick to point this out.
