Avengers assemble! No, not for yet another Marvel Cinematic Universe outing but a Jason Bateman movie.

As per Deadline, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans are set to star in the upcoming Apple movie Project Artemis. Their roles haven’t been defined yet, although the movie will take place during the space race.

Bateman might be better known as an actor, but he’s directed several episodes of Ozark, as well as two movies, 2015’s The Family Fang and 2013’s Bad Words. The screenplay comes from Rose Gilroy, who boasts famous parents in Dan Gilroy and Rene Russo.

Considering Apple have paid $100 million to secure Project Artemis, they clearly have high hopes for the movie. There’s no official release date yet, so we thought in the meantime we’d look back at all of the movies Evans and Johansson have starred in together. And yes, there’s a lot of Marvel content.

You’d think boasting a similar premise to The Breakfast Club and Dazed and Confused would mean automatic success, but this teen comedy was a massive critical and commercial failure. Evans and Johansson played high school students who aim to break into the an Educational Testing Service office in order to steal the answers to a massively important upcoming exam. Entertainment Weekly cited as being “like The Breakfast Club recast as a video game for simpletons,” which really tells you all you need to know about The Perfect Score.

The Nanny Diaries (2007)

Based on the 2002 novel of the same name, this comedy-drama starred Johansson as Annie, a college graduate who ends up working for a wealthy family in New York City. Evans complicates things as the “Harvard Hottie” who lives in the same building and who Annie begins to date. The Nanny Diaries was a bit of a misfire, only making $47 million at the box office (on a startling budget of $20 million). Luckily for Evans and Johansson that they had some major tentpoles on the way.

The Avengers (2012)

Ahh, the first Avengers movie. It feels so long ago now. Evans’ Captain America and Johansson’s Black Widow featured in a massive ensemble cast as Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. formed a superhero team to stop Thor’s brother Loki from taking over Earth.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

The first sequel to The First Avenger saw Captain America and Black Widow join forces to uncover a conspiracy within S.H.I.E.L.D, all while facing off against a mysterious assassin known as the Winter Solider (Sebastian Stan). It really is a tough life being a superhero.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

The first sequel to The Avengers saw Captain America, Black Widow, and friends fight Ultron, an A.I. totally obsessed with destroying human life. Age of Ultron is the second most expensive movie ever made, so lucky that it made over $1 billion at the global box office.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Black Widow again featured in the second Captain America movie, with the Avengers going through a major crisis. Disagreement over international oversight saw the team divide into two opposing groups, one led by Steve Rogers and the other led by Tony Stark. The world’s in danger, superheroes, can’t you all get along?

Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Captain America and Black Widow and the rest of the Avengers teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to fight Thanos, who wanted to collect the six Infinity Stones in order to kill half of all life in the universe.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Arguably the best MCU movie of them all, Endgame had a blink-and-you’ll-miss them ensemble cast, but Captain America and Black Widow were definitely in there. The surviving members of the Avengers and their allies battled the menacing Thanos, attempting to reverse the destruction caused in Infinity War. There’s a reason Endgame was the highest-grossing movie of all time for a few years.

Captain Marvel (2019)

Johansson and Evans came along (very briefly) for Brie Larson’s debut solo movie as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. The action took viewers back to 1995, and followed Danvers transformation into Captain Marvel. It was just in the nick of time too, with Earth caught up in an intense galactic conflict between two warring alien civilisations.
