While most Australians have heard of Nauru, very few of us have any idea about the Nauruan culture and way of life.

Sally McInerney’s latest photo exhibition aims to bridge this gap in knowledge, by conveying through the traditional form of photo documentary just what it looks like to live in Nauru. Not necessarily aiming to create political discussion, McInerney simply captures the everyday in order to portray a unique culture that Australians too often associate with the negative.

Curator Sandy Edwards praises McInerney’s ability to provide a subtle visual diary that provokes curiousity.

Sally McInerney’s exhibitionNauru Diary: Impressions of an Islandwill be shown from Wednesday September 30 until Sunday October 11 at the Janet Clayton Gallery.
