A harrowing original series about the 2002 Bali bombings is just one of the new arrivals on Stan in September.
Simply titled Bali 2002, all episodes of the original series will premiere on the streaming platform on September 25th. It follows the stories of the everyday heroes from Bali, Australia and beyond who did their part in the aftermath of the tragic bombings, which claimed the lives of over 200 people on October 12th two decades ago.
Bali 2002 stars Claudia Jessie (Bridgerton), Rachel Griffiths (Total Control), and Sean Keenan (Nitram), and crucially the series is a co-development between Australia and Indonesia, and was made “in consultation with those directly impacted.”
Another new series hits Stan at the same time it premieres in the US on September 10th. American Gigolo is a modern-day retelling of the classic 1980 film of the same name. Jon Bernthal will be hoping he can live up to Richard Gere’s legacy in the lead role of Julian Kaye, who’s struggling to survive in the Los Angeles sex industry after a wrongful conviction for murder.
