Following NSW Premier Mike Baird’s shock departure from parliament yesterday, the BRAG can exclusively reveal details of the official Mike Baird Retirement Party.
Taking place tomorrow night (Saturday January 21) at Darlinghurst’s anti-establishment drinking venue The Oxford Circus, the free entry party runs from 7pm until 3am, with guest DJ Cashed Up Copped Out on the decks.
You can RSVP here.
“We’re looking forward to positive changes for Sydney following Baird’s resignation,” co-founder/owner of The Oxford Circus, Mel Price said.
“If he can get here before lockouts, we’d like to give him a gold watch and wish him luck at his new job at Barangaroo.”
The party takes place directly after the third Keep Sydney Open rally on Saturday in Kings Cross. As previously reported in The Brag, the New South Wales Police Commissioner has launched legal proceedings to prevent Keep Sydney Open from hosting a rally (more information here).
Our favourite part of the press release? This: “Mike Baird has not been officially invited to the party.”
The Oxford Circus has a long history as a prominent building in the Sydney club scene, and it has undergone a recent refurbishment across all three floors (each with its own bar). The Oxford Circus boasts a comprehensive range of cocktails and infused vodkas, plus plenty of craft and tap beers on-hand. The venue regularly hosts live music and entertainment, and offers free entry every night of the week from 7pm.
