Queer social media star Lacey Jade Christie reveals that Married at First Sight reached out to her about being on the show.
Lacey Jade Christie recently posted a TikTok, sharing her story about how Married at First Sight approached her to be on the reality TV series.
“I was approached to be on MAFS,” Lacey revealed on her TikTok account, laceyjadechristie, she then went on to explain what Married at First Sight was for her followers based outside of Australia.
Casting calls were opened up a while back and the producers were allegedly looking for more BIPOC and LGBTQ+ representation. Christie saw the application and said, “Why not? We need more fat and queer representation on TV”.
Lacey seemed like she was trying to give the producers a hint that if she were to come on the show, she would be doing it on her own terms, “I did the application literally in a dress, no bra, no make-up no nothing and I was like, ‘hi!’. I submitted it and forgot about it.”
She then described that a few weeks ago, the producers called her asking if she was still interested and that they’d “love to interview” her a second time.

Christie decided to pursue the offer one step further, revealing that the process was “a f*cking lot”.
According to Christie, the producers asked her what she was looking for in a partner, why her relationships fail, and what she is like at her best and at her worst.
After the interview, she questioned whether the show was for her or not, “Could I really be on MAFS though?”
The TikTok influencer would later reveal that she didn’t get the spot but went more into depth about what would’ve happened if she did. She called it a “blessing in disguise”, because while being “open to any opportunity” she would “listen to her gut” if she had to make the decision for herself.
“Even if I did get offered the opportunity, I’m not sure I would have taken it because I see the criticism and scrutiny that a lot of people go through.”
