As marketing has begun to ramp up for Amsterdam so has the retaliation to the lack of accountability for known predator David O. Russell.

TRIGGER WARNING: Descriptions of sexual assault

The David O. Russell-helmed film, Amsterdam, has begun to ramp up its marketing and with that has come retaliation as the film continues to push forward despite Russell being a known predator.

In 2011, Russell’s niece, Nicole Peloquin, filed a police report claiming that the director had fondled her breasts. Peloquin was 19 at the time and said Russell was working out with her when he started asking questions about her transition.

Peloquin said he hovered his hand over her genitals and when she told him about the hormones she used, David slipped his hands under her shirt and grabbed both of her breasts.

The police asked Russell about her report and he did not dispute Peloquin’s claims, instead saying that she was, “acting very provocative towards him.” Russell continued to offer claims that Peloquin was comfortable with his advances despite her comments stating the opposite, along with her filing of a police report.

The police did not follow up and no charges have been held against David O. Russell.

“In case you’re lost”

“In December 2011, Russell’s 19-year-old transgender niece, Nicole Peloquin, filed a police report alleging Russell had sexually assaulted her. The case was closed without any charges being filed because the alleged assault wasn’t witnessed by police.

According to the police report, Russell offered to help Peloquin with ab exercises, during which his hand hovered above her private parts. After inquiring about the hormones she used to increase breast size Russell slipped his hands under her shirt and felt both breasts. Russell confirmed that the incident happened, but told police that Peloquin was “acting very provocative toward him” and invited him to feel her breasts.

He also admitted to being “curious about the breast enhancement.” This incident was also directly mentioned in the 2014 Sony Pictures hack.”
