Australian director Kasimir Burgess’ debut featureFellwill play this March at Riverside’s Raffertys Theatre.
Fell is screening as part of Riverside’s Screen Cafè initiative, which brings a unique selection of independent, avant-garde films to Sydney’s western suburbs. The film is an entrancing, revenge-driven drama that weaves dream-like imagery into its forest setting.
While on a camping trip, Thomas’ daughter Lara is killed in a tragic hit-and-run with a logging truck, for which the driver, Luke, serves a prison sentence. A grief-stricken Thomas leaves his life behind and moves to the remote town where Lara was killed and takes up work as a logger, waiting for Luke to return to work. He connives to work as Luke’s partner in dangerously high tree-logging work, and every time Luke climbs, Thomas holds his life in his hands.
Fellwill play at Riverside’s Raffertys Theatre on Monday March 2. The screening will be accompanied by a Q&A with the film’s producer, John Maynard with tickets available from the Riverside website.
