Cameo is by far the greatest gift humankind has given to us. If you’re unfamiliar with the website, here’s a little primer:
The website offers a service where you pay celebrities at the peak of their cultural relevance to do personalised shoutout videos. They boast a spectacular roster of A-grade celebs; think Corey Feldman, Neville Longbottom’s dad that featured in a single photograph in the Harry Potter series, that kid from Stuart Little, the list goes on.
It was only a matter of time before someone took something so good and harnessed it for evil. One swindler, that goes by the name Tristan, commissioned Flavor Flav of Public Enemy to create a shoutout video for disgraced cardinal George Pell. Yikes. “This message goes out to George Pell. just gotta say: happy retirement, my man, you know what I’m saying, for real,” Flav shared. “Not only that, you know what – I know you ran the boys choir man. You know what I’m saying. All of the boys on the choir respected you, you know what I’m saying, they collected you, my man.”
He continued “Once again, happy retirement – you know what I’m saying – and thank you for being a huge fan.”
Oh, Flavor Flav, you are so sweet and wholesome and I can not believe somebody would take advantage of your good nature.
