So Foo Fighters had this great idea of recording their new album in a bunch of different studios all over America. HBO liked the concept, and have created a sweet little miniseries documenting the whole process.

Sonic Highways is much more than a Foo Fighters roadtrip: from the origin of blues to the birthplace of punk, the project draws up an exhaustive family tree of American music. Its a massive project: from Buddy Guy to Pharell, you get a glimpse of the whole picture, all seen through Dave Grohl’s eyes. Even Obama’s in there, weighing in his two cents!

Sonic Highwaysis hitting HBO this October. The album itself is being dropped on Monday November 10, and hopefully the Fooeys will find the time to stretch their legs out our way soon.
