Frank Adonis, known for his roles in Goodfellas and The Sopranos has passed away at age 83.

The famed actor died after battling a combination of health issues, including kidney problems, and was placed on a ventilator a week ago. His wife Denise has released a statement to TMZ, saying,

“He will be missed. He was a great father and an amazing husband. He helped all his friends he could. Great writer, director and actor. He was my best friend.”

Adonis accrued over 30 film credits over the course of his long career, including the role of  Anthony Stabile in Goodfellas, as well as 1990’s Raging Bull as Patsy and 1995’s Casino as Rocky. He also appeared in the television shows The Sopranos and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
