Sometimes, for one brief moment, life is perfect.

The earth seems to be spinning in sync, colours seem brighter, and the air is filled with sweet, sweet music.

That was the case over the weekend, when someone started to illegally broadcast ‘Fuck Tha Police’ by NWA repeatedly over the Otago Police’s scanners. Because these are radio waves, and cop scanners aren’t operating with the strongest transmitters, there is literally nothing they can do about it.

Inspector Kelvin Lloyd tells the Otago Daily Times that the hilarious prank isn’t at all funny.

“Any interference with a police radio constitutes a risk to public safety, and anyone caught doing this can face a penalty of criminal nuisance and up to one year imprisonment.”
