Charles Dance admitted that he would sign a petition calling for a remake of the final season of Game of Thrones

In an interview with PopCulture the actor of the villian Tywin Lannister voiced his disappointment as a viewer on the finale.

“I continued to watch the whole series even after I’d been killed off in the lavatory, because I just thought it’s a fantastic television show, you know,” Dance said.

“There were story lines [where] I wanted to know what was going to happen to these people! I know that the finale satisfied a lot of people. It also disappointed a lot of people, and I’m afraid I am in the latter camp.”

Although he has nothing but praise for the writers and people who worked on the show he was underwhelmed by their choices for the finale.

“For the whole thing to end up as a committee, I just thought, ‘Hmm, no. I would say I was somewhat underwhelmed by [that],” he said.

He isn’t alone in thinking that the finale deserved a different ending with almost 2 million fans signing a change.org online petition asking for a Game Of Thrones remake. Dance’s co-star, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who played Jaime Lannister also admitted last week that he had “almost wanted to donate to” the campaign himself.

“I think everyone had their own opinion. I find the world of fandom really interesting. Everyone wanted something specific and different from what they got.

“It’s a combination of – you imagine an ending; but also, I think if you’re a hardcore fan, it was really upsetting that it ended. You lived with this for eight seasons. I think there was a real fear that was going to go away,” he said.

Although Game Of Thrones is finished a prequel series called House Of Dragons is currently in the works and is set for release in 2022.
