George Constanza may have struggled intimately and socially on many occasions and definitely needed to work a little (or a lot) on his repertoire of comebacks (insert the jerk store call), his sense of style definitely didn’t need any improvement.

The man had style. And I’m just going to call it: not only did George Costanza actually have a really good sense of fashion, he also had arguably one of the best wardrobes on the set of Seinfeld. And personally I really want to compliment the character of George Costanza on his ‘zero-fucks approach’ which evidently applied to both his life and his style.

While the same notion may not apply to his love life, whether George was dressed up or down, he always had a certain ‘steez’ going on, one that is not (and has not) been uncommon within the realm of fashion today. We’re talking Polo Ralph Lauren pieces, Yankees varsity jackets, Nike Cortez on the regular and of course, Gore-Tex.

After a little reading, I came across a piece by Ivy Style, where they define but no means limit George’s style aesthetic to the “three pillars of classic casual American menswear”, also stating that his style “borrows a bit from Ivy, a bit from Preppy and a bit from Trad.”

Trad is defined by Ivy Style as “a little less regulated than Ivy style and a good deal more formal than Preppy. While Ivies tend to dress a little more practically, Trads tend to have a perpetual desire to look good.” Is that George in a nutshell?

So in honour of the iconic style of George Costanza, here’s a round-up of some of his most stylish looks. We proclaim this, the style of George!
