In an interview with Rich Eisen, Giancarlo Esposito has hinted at an exciting future for Moff Gideon and The Mandalorian.

Disney’s series has been an ambitious hit as the franchise’s first attempt at a direct to streaming Star Wars adventure.

But, like most films and shows over the pandemic, it has been hit with many delays and setbacks.

The wait may soon be over though, as Esposito suggests on The Rich Eisen Show.

“You will get it soon,” teases Espostio. “I believe it’ll be sometime this Summer. No date set yet, but coming soon.”

Esposito then goes on to praise Star Wars, his time filming the series and the moral and values the series provides.

“I have nothing but great things to say about [Disney], about this franchise. In regard to how they’ve enlightened our children to mythology, and to what’s right. And how to go about doing what’s right.”

“It’s a meaningful thing for young people to understand that the deep link between good and evil, and stories of service like Mandalorian that excite them is a deep mythology of historical relevance.”

“And for me to be involved in this show extends the kind of spiritual elements that I believe in, but the human elements that we need in our world right now.”

However, Esposito says there was one issue that was the deciding factor on if he did the show: “I’ve gotta have a cape, baby.”

Spoiler alert: He does.

Though this comes as exciting news for Mandalorian fans, some are doubting Esposito’s Summer release, with an already busy release schedule on Disney+. Between the abundance of Marvel series’ and the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, it’s difficult to imagine where Mando will slip in.

Season’s one and two of The Mandlorian are available to watch now on Disney+.

On May 27th, 2022 you can expect the grand return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
