Former Mandalorian star Gina Carano has shared a controversial opinion stating that the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia is due to loss of “control of the covid narrative”.

The former MMA fighter took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the devastating conflict between the two Eastern European countries.

“The moment they lost control of the covid narrative. Cue a war. Straight from one crisis to the next. A scripted reality show sacrificing innocent lives for unquenchable greed. Endless power grabs. No accountability. Devastated economies. Never give up freedom for fear,” she posted on her account.

Carano also added a text screenshot accusing the “government” of stealing freedom.

“The government has caused suicides, bankruptcy, overdoses, domestic abuse, delayed thousands of life saving surgeries, psychologically damaged generations of kids, and stole 2 years of freedom from everyone. Dropping mandates isn’t enough,” it read.

However, Carano’s comments have been met with much criticism.

“I’m pretty sure that war had been brewing. Do not lay blame on something else to push your own narrative of equating health mandates to war,” one user wrote in the comments section.

“Why would “they” need a war? What control have they lost? It was always once cases go down masks would come off. How does a war change that? Is there going to be mask/vax mandates to protect against war. Making Q movies is hurting u,” questions another user.

In February last year, the actress was fired from The Mandalorian cast amid widespread online controversy over a social media post that likened the experience of Jews in the Holocaust to the US political climate.
