Glee actress Heather Morris wants to join the search for her former co-star Naya Rivera. Rivera went missing several days ago at Lake Piru in California.

Morris has expressed her frustration about finding her missing friend on Twitter, “I’m trying to conduct an on foot search and rescue mission along with a small group of friends at Lake Piru,” Morris tweeted at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

“I understand your team is doing EVERYTHING in their power, but we are feeling helpless, powerless and want to help in any way. I have left a message with the department of Rescue and Air today, and I will call again tomorrow. Thank you.”

The search for the 33-year-old actress, Naya Rivera, whose breakthrough role was Santana Lopez on Glee, has been ongoing since Wednesday. It is believed Rivera has drowned in Lake Piru in Southern California. Authorities have called it a “tragic accident,” and have expressed their condolences.

Rivera and her son were swimming in the lake when the actress failed to return to the rented boat. Naya Rivera was soon reported missing and feared dead. Her 4-year-old son, Josey Dorsey, was unharmed when he was found alone on the boat, at Like Piru, around 90 kilometres from downtown Los Angeles.

Heather Morris provided an update on Twitter this morning where she said, “I have full confidence that they’re doing everything they can, and probably more. We will hold off on the citizen search and rescue until we get the go.”
