Glee star Naya Rivera was laid to rest last week in a private service at the Hollywood Hills cemetery, Forest Lawn.
The actress’ death certificate was released on Thursday, three weeks after her body was found floating in Lake Piru in southern California.
According to the certificate, Rivera drowned “in minutes.” The actress no underlying ailments, and no drugs or alcohol were found in her system.
Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub confirmed, “there was no indication there was foul play and no indication that this is suicide”.
Naya Rivera passed away aged 33 after accidentally drowning in Lake Piru, California. The actress went missing whilst boating with her 4-year-old son. A rescue team recovered her body less than a week later.
Earlier this week, the actresses youngest sister, Nickayla, took to social media to share a poignant tribute to her late sister.
“Sister, there are no words to describe my love for you,” the 25-year-old model captioned a photo of herself kissing Naya on the cheek. “Side by side or miles apart, our connection is infinite. Our bond is unbreakable. We were complete opposites, yet simultaneously the same. The yin to my yang. I never knew that by losing you, I would find so much of you in myself.”
