TV’s “night of nights” is just days away, but the Gold Logie winner has already been ‘leaked’ as one nominee is clearly leading the betting odds.

This year, Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Karl Stefanovic, Sonia Kruger, Tom Gleeson, Ray Meagher and Melissa Leong are all in the running for the prestigious award.

However, betting odds have been released in recent days by Sportsbet and Blake is the clear favourite to win. The radio host and TV star has returns of just $1.80. He is followed by Channel Seven host Sonia Kruger at $4, and MasterChef judge Melissa Leong at $5.50.

Blake, the current LEGO Masters host and previous Gold Logie winner, said it feels “surreal” to be up for the award again.

“It feels surreal, I mean, it was ten years ago I won Gold so for anyone in TV, to still be working ten years later is a surprise unto itself,” he told TV Tonight.

Blake told the publication that he’s not campaigning to win and revealed who he’d like to win if he doesn’t.

“I have no campaign! My campaign is “if you have to be cajoled into voting for someone’s popularity, then I’m not sure they’re that popular!”

“I think anyone up there would more than deserve it for what they bring to TV but if I had to pick, I’d love to see Julia Morris’s speech.”

Though always a highly anticipated event in Australia, this year’s Logies are especially special because the awards ceremony was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.

Live voting for the Gold Logie, is open right through until the end of the red carpet telecast on June 19th. Fans can now vote for their favourites from the shortlisted nominees at tvweeklogiesvote.com
