In news that I couldn’t hate more, Carole Baskin has reached out to Victorian Premier Dan Andrews and implored him to get on the piss.
Mashd N Kutcher, the EDM duo that are stalwarts of churning out meme-indebted tracks for the Australian public, are back with their latest offering. This time, they’ve drawn inspiration from two cultural touchstones of the coronavirus pandemic and created a ‘Get On The Beers’ remix in honour of the end of Melbourne’s lockdown.
The duo took to Cameo to commission Tiger King villain Carole Baskin to deliver a message to Dan Andrews, praising him for his coronavirus efforts and encouraging him to take a well-deserved break.
“Hey Dan Andrews, it’s Carole Baskin from Big Cat Rescue and I know you’ve been spending a lot of time working hard down at the zoo but we all want you to take a well-deserved break and get on the beers,” says Baskin in the video.
“Because that is your civic duty, that’s what’s most important and that’s what must be done.”

The track is a reworking of Mashd N Kutcher’s previously released single ‘Get On The Beers’ — a track helmed in just 15 minutes following Daniel Andrews announcement that lockdown restrictions would be easing.
“With press conferences all over the TV, that was about the only thing we could remix, so we did,” drummer Matt Minor told Student Edge of the track.
“It was never anything to do with politics. It was more about the message of someone who is in such a serious position saying, ‘get on the beers’; it’s a very Aussie thing to say.” It didn’t take long for the track to become a viral sensation, amassing millions of views in mere days.
