Update: Grace Tame has responded by to the commotion around her bong photo by reposting the pic to Twitter with the caption “Alright, I confess, we were doing a cover of ‘April Sun in Cuba’. On the oboe.”

Tame is referring to a pre-election interview that Scott Morrisson did on 60 Minutes on Sunday in which he played a rendition of  ‘April Sun in Cuba’ on the ukulele. During the interview, Morrison was questioned about his choice to holiday in Hawaii during the Black Summer bushfires of 2019-2020, and the choice of playing the ukelele, which is Hawaii’s national instrument, was not well received by the general public.

Grace Tame has been in the headlines quite a bit recently — we all know that famous photo of her giving ScoMo the biggest side eye — but now she’s back in the spotlight after an old photo of her sitting on a couch in front of a bong has resurfaced on the internet.

A 2014 Instagram image was brought back to the spotlight by the Daily Mail after it was deleted on Monday morning.

The post was deleted after Jenny Morrison (the Prime Minister’s wife) made comments on Sunday night on 60 Minutes of Tame’s poor manners and disrespectful attitude.

Before the post disappeared, it was allegedly captioned with the green plant symbol — and we all know what that means.

While some of Tame’s critics jumped on the image to criticise — one commented “Australian of the Year?” on the photo before it was deleted — Twitter has gone crazy with the resurrection of the image, and some of the reactions are hilarious.

“Grace Tame’s bong has preemptively been awarded Australian of the Year,” The Shovel tweeted.

“I’d rather see Grace Tame with a bong than Scott Morrison with a ukulele,” another user tweeted, referencing ScoMo’s interesting ukulele bit on last night’s 60 minutes segment.

Another user tweeted that ex-Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has even admitted to smoking marijuana in the past before getting the Nation’s top job, so the fact that Grace Tame was seen posing with a bong should not be seen as the scandal it is.

It seems that if this was in an attempt to further smear Grace Tame’s image to the public eye, it may have just done the exact opposite, since a lot of people on Twitter are finding her even more relatable.

Regardless of the reactions, it seems like Grace would’ve been great to party with back in the day.
