The GTA Online expansion picks up years after the events of GTA V and will also see the return of Franklin Clinton.

Still recovering from the pretty disastrous launch of that pretty rough GTA trilogy, Rockstar Games is hoping win back some fan love with the announcement of a major new story update for GTA V that’s bound to raise a few eyebrows.

Dubbed ‘The Contract’ the GTA Online expansion is set to pick up years after the events of GTA V. It’s here you’ll find returning protagonist Franklin Clinton as he works to set up a new “celebrity solutions agency” catering to the Vinewood elite in need of solutions to high-society problems.

As luck would have it, none other than Dr. Dre may be in need of such a service.

“Lost in the shuffle on his way to Cayo Perico last year, it turns out Dr. Dre’s phone isn’t just missing — it’s in the wrong hands,” says Rockstar. “Not only that, but the phone also contains the hottest property in the city: new, unreleased music from Dr. Dre himself. This could be the big break your agency needs.”

Cue a bevy of shenanigans that will see you traipse around Los Santos streets, parties and mansions as you try to secure the new tracks for the multi-million dollar star.

Rockstar is also promising an “eclectic new radio station from some very special guest hosts, huge first-of-their-kind updates to existing radio stations including a ton of new and unreleased exclusive tracks from Dr. Dre and a heavy-hitting line-up of artists” although no word on who exactly that may be.

Fans have been begging for single-player content in GTA V ever since the game’s initial release back in 2013, so it’s interesting to see that finally added in via GTA Online.

You’ll be able to try the new content for yourself when it launches on December 15.
