Thieves have broken into a van belonging to Sydney singer-songwriter Maia Jelavic after a gig at 107 Projects in Redfern, stealing her prized guitar and other possessions.
Jelavic’s acoustic guitar (pictured) is a Maton EWC80C cutaway model, with unclipped strings on the head of the guitar, the sticker on the bridge removed, and nail marks on the soundboard. The van was broken into on Redfern Street, opposite the venue, on early Sunday morning after Jelavic’s gig on Saturday October 25.
The thieves did not take the case, so anyone seeing a lone guitar matching the description is asked to contact [email protected] or phone Maia on 0412 198 566. The number for Crime Stoppers is 1800 333 000.
