Comedy queen Hannah Gadsby has a major reason to celebrate with the news that the Aussie comedian has tied the knot with girlfriend Jenney Shamash.

The 43-year-old revealed the happy news over social media today, writing: “I’d like to introduce all y’all to Jenney.

“She’s a producer extraordinaire. She’s funny and very talented at reciting facts,” Gadsby continued.

“We just got MARRIED and we are very chuffed. This is me gushing. I’m full of very positive feelings. Thanks to all y’all who voted for marriage equality.”

Fans were quick to flood the star’s comments with their well wishes, with one Twitter user writing: “I was having a really really rotten day, but seeing love and marriage and ice cream like this has brightened my day big time. Congratulations to you both!”

Another added: “Yaaassss I was like… how are u still single? Turns out not anymore! Congrats!”

Gadsby – who recently revealed she is on the autism spectrum – had previously referenced her wife in an interview with autism not-for-profit AsIAm.

“Being a star is perfect for autistic people because you get all that external scaffolding to flourish. I set my boundaries and say ‘I can’t do these things’,” she said at the time.

“But people still say, ‘But you’re fine’. And I have to explain if I do certain things I’m not fine.

“Jenney is my external scaffolding on this tour. Jenney and I have worked out a language for communicating this.”

Gadsby shot to fame following her insanely popular stand-up show Nanette, which became one of the most popular and revered comedy sets in Netflix history.

In April last year, she then announced her second Netflix standup special, Douglas.

“Hi, I’m Hannah Gadsby,” she said at the time. “My second Netflix special, Douglas, will debut on May 26th on Netflix! I’m excited for you to see it. It’s gonna be good. Unless you don’t like it. Then it’s still going to be good and you’ll be wrong.”
