Happy 25th birthday to Happy Gilmore. Adam Sandler, who played the iconic role of Happy in Happy Gilmore, has dusted off his clubs and taken to Twitter to celebrate the movies 25th anniversary.

Sandler posted a clip of him hitting the greens again. “25 years since I’ve done this,” he announced. “I’m scared! Shooter McGavin, this is for you.”

After hitting a solid shot, Sandler smugly added, “And I’m not lying to you, that is smashed. Smashed and that went pretty well. You’re dead, Shooter.”

Not one to be outdone, Christopher McDonald – who we all know as Shooter McGavin – quickly putted back on social media.

“Nice drive, Gilmore. Twenty-five years, huh? Let’s see if it’s Shooter’s tour. Check it out,” McDonald says to the camera before impressively putting a golf ball straight into a glass.

“Money. Shooter, still got it.” And honestly, that was impressive.

“Well thank you to all the fans, and thank you to you, Adam Sandler. Why don’t you just meet me at the ninth green at nine, Gilmore,” Shooter/McDonald adds in true Shooter McGavin style.

As iconic is the beef between Shooter McGavin and Happy Gilmore, it’s matched by Ben Stiller’s role in the movie as Happy’s grandma’s caretaker. Who could forget the evil nursing home orderly who denied Happy’s grandma a glass of warm milk?

Stiller also took to social media to celebrate the anniversary of the movie.

“That’s a beautiful swing Mr. Gilmore,” Stiller said. “Congrats on your anniversary, and being such a loving grandson,” he posted.

Stiller made headlines last year for opposing a campaign to remove Donald Trump’s cameo in Zoolander.

“I’ve had people reach out to me and say, ‘You should edit Donald Trump out of Zoolander,’” he told The New Abnormal podcast. “But at the end of the day, that was a time when that exists and that happened.”
