There has been a lot going on at San Diego Comic-Con this year, and we mean a LOT, and it seems that the announcements aren’t stopping anytime soon.
Even though there was no planned panel, HBO has dropped their first full-length trailer for their new series ‘Watchmen’ and it’s full of gritty action and suspense.
Have a look at the first full-length trailer here:

The series focuses on the lead actress Regina King as she joins a crew of superheroes engaged in a revolt against the town’s leaders who are opposed to them.
It will be based on the DC comic ‘Watchmen’ written by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons in the late 1980s. And who could forget the 2009 film adaptation of ‘Watchmen’ which showed a similarly dark environment in a world full of corruption and violence.
The HBO series is a modern adaptation that reinterprets the original material and puts it forward in a not-so-distant future from the movie.
There is a mix of old and new elements from the original, featuring similar ideas and themes blended with new visuals and a brand new setting.
Watch the original movie trailer below:
Although the story seems to be quite the mystery, the trailer shows us a world where vigilantes are outlawed in a dystopia where even the police use masks to hide their identities.
“So the cops hide their face, and now, the bad guys don’t know where they live.”
This fresh adaption is sure to have fans and newcomers on the edge of their seats in a new but familiar setting that treats the original comics as canon. So, expect some macabre storytelling and typical HBO grit when the series finally comes our way.
The trailer also provides a first look at Dr. Manhattan who can be seen for a brief few seconds on a news clip showing the glowing superhero that we all know on Mars.
Hopefully, HBO is able to create another phenomenal show to add to their impressive list so far.
Be sure to check out Watchmen when it airs this October.
