If the Oscar nominations are anything to go by — and they often are — the beautiful and sublime Guillermo del Toro film The Shape Of Water was the most dominant film of 2017, with a whopping 13 nominations this year.

Also up for a substantial number of substantial awards are the thoroughly-depressing Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and Greta Gerwig’s brilliant Lady Bird.
