If you’re a fiend for a data-based list then buckle up because Netflix has just released their 2019 wrap up.
Sandlerheads rejoice, our boy has risen victorious. Netflix’s most popular title of the year is the Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anderson-starring comedy Murder Mystery. The film was viewed by 30,869,863 accounts in its first three days on the streaming service. 2019 was the year of the great Adam Sandler renaissance.
Coming in hot at number two is Stranger Things season three. In third place is a Michael Bay film that I’ve literally never heard of, 6 Underground. Whilst Disney’s The Incredibles 2 held the fourth spot down.
Netflix determines the popularity of these titles by counting the total number of accounts that streamed the title for a minimum of two minutes during the first 28 days of its release. This accounts for how Scorsese’s three-and-a-half-hour punish The Irishman snuck in as the fifth most popular title. No one has finished that movie, and if they reckon they did, they’re a stone-cold liar.
