You know the drill. Amazon Prime has dropped its September lineup and there are a couple of choice selections worth your time.
If you’re not already riddled with despair over your own private loneliness, Charlie Kaufman’s Anomalisa is sure to send you into a catatonic state of isolation. The bizarro puppet animation will have you reveling in the lowest of lows feelings, but in like, a good way? You will hopefully feel better after watching this. If not for the abjectness, watch it for the weird, vivid puppet sex.
Denzel Washington’s defiant Fences is well worth your time — backed by a truly exquisite performance from Viola Davis. If you want comfort in the familiar, Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds will arrive at the end of the month.
