Newtown Festival is one of the highlights on the communal Inner-West calendar (you know, the one on the communal Inner-West fridge), with a bunch of great bands, a dog show, a writers’ tent with talks, signings and advice, a kids zone for dumping your responsibilities off in a ballpark or something, and roughly 300 food, drink, and craft stalls; basically all that awesome fete shit.
Best of all, your $5 entry fee go to the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, which provide frontline services for those doing it rough.
