Brace yourself. Crocs, the slip-on foam clogs which first entered public consciousness during Nelly‘s golden year of 2002, is now selling high-heels.
Crocs may have been given the tick of approval by some music’s elite (how could you do us like this Posty?), but the US shoe manufacturer had kicked things up a notch with the release of the ‘Women’s Cyprus V Heel W Heeled Shoes’.
Available for £42.05 from Amazon, these fine specimens feature a side elastic “for a more forgiving fit” and rubber outsole pods “for traction”.

Incredibly, the aforementioned model is currently out of stock, but the grey and black editions – both labeled “the next generation of our popular Cyprus heel” – are available to purchase.
Luxury fashion house Balenciaga have jumped right into the fray with the below and now nothing surprises us anymore.

In its description of the embellished platform shoe, the high fashion label said:
“Balenciaga casts the classic Croc slipper in a punk-ish new light for SS18. In a whimsical bubblegum-pink hue, the front is decorated with a selection of irreverent pop-culture charms including logo plaques, avocados, flags, and pug faces to create an effect like a fridge of souvenir magnets. Take advantage of the high platform sole to lift an ankle-skimming dress.”
It’s only a matter of time before we all stop demonising Nickelback and baggy cargo shorts and just lean in to the plastic wonder of the Croc.
