Watch as Twitter reacts to the wild topics being brought up at the Disney shareholder meeting from Hitler to critical race theory.

Disney is having its shareholder meeting today, February 9th, and while many expected the highlights to range from new Star Wars content to the latest MCU announcement, the talk around the event is currently on some of the shareholders calling in to discuss… well, a lot of strange things.

It seems that many of the conservative talking points have made it into the shareholder meeting, as @ChelseaTatham gives a brief list of some of the repeated talking points heard from right-wing politics in the United States, brought up by Disney shareholders.

“This #Disney Shareholder Meeting has everything: nonsensical rants about critical race theory and diversity training, Jan. 6, complaining that Disney is too “woke” and namedrops of Whoopi Goldberg and Hitler”
Another person from the meeting was overheard talking about how they think CRT and Disney’s non-discriminatory policies are awful.  Talking points such as CRT have seen a drastic increase in usage among conservatives in the two years, thanks to right-wing media giants such as Fox news pushing talking points from think tanks like the Heritage Foundation.

“Some guy who’s a shareholder or on the board, proposed all sorts of nonsense and felt the need to bring up hitler and how awful he thinks CRT and Disneys non discriminatory policies are.

A new wave of homophobia and general anti-LGBTQ sentiment has washed over Florida in recent months in the wake of the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill that recently passed the Florida Senate, which limits talk of sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms. For more on the bill read here.

“Oh lord, shareholder question asking about why Disney is “political” and indoctrinating children with LGBTQ agenda …”

@azalben points out that they just wanted to soy face for Star Wars which was rudely interrupted by talks of CRT.

“Me: I hope they announce a new star war

Shareholders: CRITICAL RACE THEORY-“

Lastly, we get the crossover I never knew existed between SpongeBob and Dr. Manhattan. Interesting.

“They’re talking about “Critical Race Theory” during the Disney Shareholders meeting.”
