According to sources, Hogwarts Legacy will take serious strides towards inclusivity following controversial comments from J.K. Rowling.

There’s understandably a hell of a lot of buzz behind Hogwarts Legacy. After all, the upcoming role-playing title is Harry Potter’s most ambitious outing yet. It’s also exactly what Potterheads have been trying to conjure up in their homemade cauldrons for years.

Now it seems the game will be one of the first to allow for unique flexibility in player voice, body type and gender placement.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the game will provide the options at the character select screen. Similar to other RPGS, players will be able to select a masculine or feminine voice, however that voice will be able to be paired with any body.

The report also claims that you will also have to select either “witch” or “wizard”. This decision which decide which Hogwarts dorm you’re then placed in.

It’s worth noting though that this new leak is not at all confirmed, with the sources of the information choosing to stay anonymous.

The open-world adventure, which will be set within the popular wizarding world during the 1800s was originally scheduled for a 2021 release. However that date was quickly pushed back and it’s now expected sometime in 2022.

Some speculation suggested that the move may be due to Harry Potter author J.K Rowling absolutely going off her rocker. Rowling set the Twittersphere on fire after a transphobic rant that even saw Mr. Potter himself, Danielle Radcliffe, getting involved.

According to the Hogwarts Legacy development team, Rowling did not have direct involvement in the upcoming game, nor did she pen its new story.  The game is due for release on PS4, PS5, PC, XBO, and Xbox Series X.
