A moviegoer in Hong Kong has reportedly been beaten by furious Marvel fans after spoiling the plot of the long-awaited Avengers: Endgame.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 11 years, then you’d likely be aware that the release of Avengers: Endgame this last week was one of the most highly-anticipated movie events of the decade.
The culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 21 films have led up to the release of this latest movie, undoubtedly making it a hot ticket for eager fans.
Of course, with such high-demand for tickets, prospective viewers have been doing all they can to avoid spoilers. In fact, directors Anthony and Joe Russo even went so far as to issue an open letter to fans, asking them not to spoil the film for others.
“Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts, and your souls into these stories, we’re once again asking for your help,” the Russo brothers wrote.
“When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.”
However, it seems that one moviegoer in Hong Kong didn’t get the memo, reportedly being beaten by frustrated viewers for spoiling the film’s plot.

As Asia One notes, a man in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong was reportedly leaving the cinema after viewing Avengers: Endgame, only to begin revealing ket plot points by the entrance.
“Cinemagoers who were waiting to enter the doors were fuming and some reportedly went to beat the man up to teach him a lesson,” Asia One explains.
“The photo ignited many discussions with fans claiming that ‘he got his just deserts [sic] served’ or that they ‘felt good seeing this’.”
While a photo of the incident (as seen above) has been doing the rounds, many have questioned the veracity of the reports. However, a number of people who claim to have been at the cinema in question at the time have come forward to vouch for the event’s authenticity.
Whatever the case, if you’re going to see Avengers: Endgame any time soon, maybe it would be wise to not discuss the film on your way out?
