CNN+ is the newest streaming service on the block, combining live news coverage and on-demand programming.
CNN+ will deliver live, on-demand and interactive news-driven programming. Subscribers to the service will also be able to watch cable broadcast and on-demand content via the CNN+ app as well.
CNN made sure to get some big names to help launch their streaming service. They recruited Chris Wallace from Fox News to host a headline show. Wolf Blitzer, Kate Bolduan, Sara Sidner, and Bianca Nobilo will also anchor daily programming.
Jake Tapper will be hosting a book-oriented show, while Anderson Cooper Full Circle will also be available on CNN+. And with rivals like Netflix and Stan being focused more on entertainment, there’s definitely a gap in the streaming service market for news for CNN+ to exploit.
Costing just $6 per month or $60 per year, CNN+ went live on Tuesday, March 29th in the U.S.. There was even an opening offer to entice new subscribers: anyone who signs up in the first four weeks and also keep their subscription will get 50% off the monthly plan for life.
However, as is so often the case for us sorry sods in Australia, CNN+ isn’t yet available over here. There are some ways around it though.
